ABOUT US

Trio Rodin, wtih a trajectory of more than 300 concerts, is becoming one of the most outstanding spanish ensembles of their generation. Founded in 2011 in Utrecht, with the aim of creating a common project out of three different personalities, they are acclaimed by critics for their intensity, expressivity and communicative style with the audience.

They have been awarded 1st Prize at "XI Chamber music competition Montserrat Alavedra" (Terrassa, Spain), the Jury Prize at "Storioni Festival Prijs" (Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands), the Audience prize at “Who´s next? Competition” (Almere) and 2nd Prizes at “Josep Mirabent i Magrans Competiton” (Sitges) and “III International Competition Villalgordo del Júcar” (Albacete). They have also been finalists at the “X International Competition Ecoparque de Trasmiera” (Arnuero), and “XXIII Paper de Música de Capellades” (Barcelona).

They are focused on presenting great works of the chamber music literature in a diverse range of performing venues and program styles from classical to contemporary music. They have been invited to play in the "Gaudeamus Muziekweek", festival dedicated entirely to the music of our days. Thanks to the programme "Call for Composers", they have premiered several new works dedicated to them by young international composers. Trio Rodin is recognized for their original arrangements. We would like to give special mention to their version of “Danzas Gitanas” by J. Turina, "Romeo and Juliet" by S. Prokofiev or "West Side Story" by L. Bernstein.

 

Besides working with international renowned musicians, they followed a master with Trio di Parma in the “Scuola Superiore Internazionale di musica da camera del Trio di Trieste” in Duino, Italy.

 

Trio Rodin has performed in some of the most important music halls all over Europe (“Concertgebouw” in Amsterdam, "Palau de la Música" in Valencia, “Auditorio Nacional”in Madrid, "Palau de la Música Catalana" in Barcelona, Muziekgebouw Eindhoven) and in the most prestigious festivals such as the "Grachtenfestival" (Amsterdam), "Festival de Música de Cámara de Monteleón" (Spain), “Music in Kilkenny”, "Music for Wexford", "Music for Galway" (Ireland), “Festival Músika-Música”, "Otoño musical Soriano", " Festival de Música española de Cádiz", Música en Segura (Spain)...

Their concerts have been broadcasted several times by “Radio Nacional de España” (RNE), “Catalunya Música”, "Radio4" (The Netherlands), “France Musique” (France), “WDR” (Germany) as well as the italian “RAI”.

Their discographical debut, under the Italian label OnClassical (“Enrique Granados: Chamber music with piano”), has received great reviews and it has already been selected between the best proposals by the well-known international label "NAXOS" as well as the Gold Medal at the “Global Music Awards” (USA). They were also nominated by "Premis Enderrock" as one of the best classical music discs of the season.

In collaboration with “Tritó Edicions” they have edited the first revised version of the score of the Trio by Enrique Granados based on the autograph manuscript located in The Music Museum in Barcelona.

 

They were chosen to take part of a tour with "Juventudes Musicales de España" and "Joventuts musicals de Catalunya" and were selected by “Circuitos FestClásica" getting the chance to perform in some of the most prestigious music festivals in Spain. They are currently part of the "AECID" catalogue managed by the Ministery of Culture of Spain. They have been part of the DINAMIZARTJ program aiming to bring music to rural areas.

In The Netherlands they were one of the selected ensembles by the “Stichting Muziek in Huis”, organization with the purpose of approaching the experience of live music to old people.
