Trio Rodin, one of the most outstanding spanish young ensembles of their generation, is founded in 2011 in Utrecht, with the aim of creating a common project out of three different personalities.
Acclaimed by critics for their intensity, expressive and communicative style with the audience, Trio Rodin was awarded 1st Prize at “XI Chamber music competition Montserrat Alavedra” (Terrassa, Spain), as well as at the prestigious “Storioni Festival Prijs” (Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands). It is also remarkable the 2nd Prize at “Josep Mirabent i Magrans Competiton” (Sitges) and at “III International Competition Villalgordo del Júcar” (Albacete). They have also been finalists at the “X International Competition Ecoparque de Trasmiera” (Arnuero), and at “XXIII Paper de Música de Capellades” (Barcelona). They have just been awarded the Audience Prize at "Who's next, Chamber music competition" (Almere).
Besides working with international renowned musicians, they followed a master with Trio di Parma in the “Scuola Superiore Internazionale di musica da camera del Trio di Trieste” in Duino, Italy.
They are focused on presenting great works of the chamber music literature in a diverse range of performing venues and program styles from classical to contemporary music. They have been invited to play in the "Gaudeamus Muziekweek" (2013), festival dedicated entirely to the music of our days. Thanks to the programme "Call for Composers", they have premiered several new works dedicated to them by young composers.
Trio Rodin has performed in some of the most important Music Halls all over The Netherlands, like “Tivoli-Vredenburg” (Utrecht), "Concertgebouw" (Amsterdam), "Toonzaal” (Den Bosch) and "Muziekgebouw" (Eindhoven). They also have an intense activity in Spain, Italy and Ireland.
